the fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
the problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us. Whereas a person with self-awareness is able to exercise a little meta-cognition and say, “Hmm… every time my sister calls me and asks for money, I end up drinking a lot of vodkas.
As a result, when our selves are in autopilot, we tend to be unaware that we’re in autopilot. When we decide to take action, our actions are often not the actions we’d want them to be.
The human brain is the perfect system to help us control our actions. We have two different “organs” that influence our actions. One is the conscious part of the brain that decides what we will do. The other is the automatic part of the brain that doesn’t have much input from our conscious selves. When we choose to change our behavior, our automatic brain will make a decision for us. It’s hard to stop this kind of automatic behavior.
The automatic part of the brain is made up of more than just the right and left hemisphere. The motor cortex on the left hemisphere controls our actions, and the limbic and prefrontal areas of the right are responsible for the rest of our brain. They also help us think about other things and make decisions. The right hemisphere controls all the higher functions of the brain as well as working with the limbic and prefrontal areas.
Technically, the left hemisphere is the part of the brain that controls our right hemispheric functions, and the right hemisphere is the part of the brain that controls our left hemispheric functions. However, the two areas do interact in certain ways, and we can talk about these areas as different sides of the brain.
In our case, the left hemisphere controls our ability to form plans, to be logical, and to do common sense. The right hemisphere controls our ability to empathize and identify with other people, and our ability to do things like empathy.
The left hemisphere is the main part of the brain responsible for our ability to plan for the future. The right hemisphere is the main part of the brain responsible for our ability to empathize with other people.
I’ve always wondered how important these two sides of the brain are. What we think we know about the world and the world we know is all determined by whichever hemisphere we’re on. But in the real world, these two sides of the brain are not independent of each other. We can only use the left hemisphere to be rational and plan for the future. The right hemisphere is able to empathize with other people and use the right side of the brain to form relationships that are meaningful.
So the left hemisphere is the part of the brain that thinks about the future and plans for it. The right hemisphere is the part of the brain that is able to feel empathy with other people, and use the left side of the brain to connect emotionally.
