It seems that more and more people are looking for a real job in the tech industry. I just started work in tech for a company just last week. I have no clue how I am going to survive in this industry.
I think a lot of people are in the same boat. Tech industry recruiters are more than willing to give out “preferred” job listings to people who have skills that are “in demand.” That means that you need to have those skills in order to be hired. What this means in practice is that you have to have a certain level of expertise with a specific technology, which often means you have to go through an intense training process.
But I don’t think that’s a problem because the tech job sector is highly competitive. I’ve been in this industry for 15 years, and I have seen the industry grow from about 2,000 jobs in January 2000 to more than 25,000 in March 2012. There are a lot of high-quality, well-paying jobs out there. But in the tech industry, you don’t necessarily have to be a specialist to get hired.
The tech job market is an ever-changing one. When I started, there were only about 10,000 tech jobs. Today there are over 30,000. As a result, you will get more than one job, and each of them will require a certain amount of training. So if you are not a tech expert, you have to be trained for the specific job.
This is not to say that people can not make good money in tech. Most of the jobs you will find are in software development, web development, and data entry. Most of these jobs pay very little but will require years of training. Also, if you have experience, you can usually find a job that pays a lot if you have the right experience.
The good news is that in tech, jobs are really scarce. I don’t mean there are too many jobs, I mean there are too few jobs. I’m talking about a few hundred a year. One of the best ways to get that experience is by becoming an employee at a company that hires people. You can apply for a job at any company that hires, and you get placed with the company.

There are companies that pay well, but companies that offer good training. The first step is to identify the companies that pay well and offer a good training program. That way, you can make yourself a good wage.
